It is not only the students that support our partners by giving their time and energy, our parent community work extremely hard in providing charitable support. The Christmas BISzaar is the main fundraiser of the year and a way for the school community to support all of the BIS HCMC community partners. In Term 3 2016, the community department received a very generous donation by the PTG. Here is what was bought with that money:
Mai Am Shelter
At the end of Term 3, students in Mai Am club handed over two new computers to the boys at the Mai Am Shelter.

Thuy’s Dreams
Funds from the BISzaar were also combined with funds raised during the 2015 Movember campaign to support 7 children who were in urgent need of treatment at the Children’s Cancer Wards. More information can be found here: Movember and PTG Donations to the Children's Cancer Ward

Ky Quang Pagoda
Part of the money raised went to 20 children at Ky Quang Pagoda who were in need of new sandals.

Thao Dien Disabled School
Educational equipment was bought for Thao Dien Disabled School – they now have enough colouring pens to last a whole school year!

Nhat Hong
Nhat Hong had been looking at Audio Labellers to support with the children’s learning. Two of these were bought over from England and are used by the students and teachers.

Year 7 & 9 Community Projects – Helmets
Part of the money from the Christmas BISzaar also helped us purchase helmets for children at a local school as part of the Year 9 Helmets for Kids Campaign.

A small amount of money was also used for extra resources for the Year 7 projects to make their awareness campaigns even more effective!

Thien Phuoc
BIS HCMC parent community supported with the weekly donation of nappies and yogurts for over 60 children at Thien Phuoc.

Through parent contacts, Thien Phuoc now has sponsorship of nappies from Procter & Gamble!
Binh Tho School
Education equipment was bought for the children at Binh Tho School – they now have a variety of different sports and classroom equipment to support them with their learning!

Mai Tam
Last but certainly not least, money from the Christmas BISzaar, as well as from the International Day Auction paid for the school fees of two children at Mai Tam for a year.
We are now in the process of organising the funding from the money raised at this year’s Christmas BISzaar with the PTG.
Thank you to everyone who has been involved in supporting our community partners. A special thank you to the PTG for their continued support!
