Tet is an exciting time of celebration and giving in Vietnam. We wanted to make Tet 2017 extra special for the children of our community partners – this is where the Tet collection comes in. The Tet collection is a collection of donated items such as stationery, toys, and dried food items such as rice and noodles. Items were collected in the weeks before the Tet holiday and have now been presented to our community partners.
I was absolutely astounded to see the amount of high quality items that were donated by our TX families! We had enough rice, noodles and crackers to stock a supermarket! As well as food items, we received many toys and some wonderful coloured plastic balls which I’m sure the children will enjoy playing with. The items collected at TX have been given to Binh Trieu school, a centre which provides schooling for over 400 disadvantaged children, and the Christina Noble Foundation which provides vital health services, education opportunities and community support programmes to vulnerable children and their families.
Binh Trieu school and the Christina Noble Foundation have been extremely grateful for the donations they have received. It is so vitally important that we continue to support these organisations as they continue their valuable and critical work. On behalf of our community partners I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all of the parents and children at TX who supported the Tet collection 2017. I look forward to seeing what we can donate next year!
