U14A Boys Football - Match Report 17/02/17

17 February 2017

With a starting line-up of Khanh, Oliver, Son (Captain), Rafael, Campbell, Seo Jun and Yurii, the U14A Boys felt confident of their ability on the football pitch, still riding high from their last 2 victories.

Unfortunately, early in the game we conceded a goal from a long ball over the top which we didn’t deal with, but we didn’t let that get our heads down and for the next few minutes we played with a solid defence.

We created some chances but our usual lethal strike force couldn’t put away the chances. With around 10 mins to half time Mr. Whiteley made some subs on the wings by putting Dylan and Sam on. The chances continued to come but it was only when a corner was given by an AIS defender blocking a run from Dylan that Rafael scored a beautiful header from a corner by Sam.

With high hopes and a strong and good word by our coach, the same 7 started the next half and instantly we pushed on in attack. With a few missed chances another sub was made up front by putting Andy on for Yurii. As soon as he came on we could feel his energy and dedication to score and this payed off after a wonderful run and through ball from Dylan, when Andy put the ball past the keeper to give us the lead.

After this, our morale was at a high and we pushed on by scoring 2 more goals with a great shot from Sam and then a screamer from Seo Jun that went ‘top bins’. In the final, nervous minutes of the game AIS scored a consolation goal to leave us with a 4 – 2 victory.

Won 4 – 2, scorers are Rafael, Andy, Sam, Seo Jun
