Whatever The Weather - Spring Music Concert
Photos and an overview of the Spring Music Concert held at Ben Thanh Theatre are now available on the school website. A wonderful music event which I hope you all enjoyed as much as we did! This morning at the PTG meeting I had an interesting discussion with parents regarding the importance of music in the learning and life of students at BIS and the role that some of our Secondary students are playing in helping to develop an appreciation for music among some of our very talented Primary musicians too.

Year 12 Geography Student’s Coursework in Dalat
Our intrepid Year 12 Geography students and teachers headed off to Dalat last week to collect river data for their Internal Assessment. The visit also enabled the students to develop the way in which they think critically and reflect upon the interrelationships between people and their environment.
In the words of Mr Mark Hadley, Head of Geography ‘ It was not only a delight to see the students rise to this challenge during the trip, but we are also able to see how their mindset has changed back in the classroom’.
Congratulations to our excellent team of MUN students and teachers who attended the Model United Nations event at UNIS in Hanoi last week. We were delighted that four of our students won Best Delegate in the 9 different councils of the conference. Jun Won Hwang, Year 12, and Ashley Krairojananan, Year 11, report on the event.
Mai Am Community Club: Update
As part of our long term partnership with the Mai Am Shelter our students help to teach English to the boys from the shelter. Khanh Do from Year 12 tells us about his experience of the club.
In a very well attended event last night parents and teachers met up to socialise at the Boathouse restaurant over drinks and snacks. Events such as these help to bond our school community and also provide a school social event for our working parents who are at times unable to attend events held during the school day.
Details of the PTG year group lunches which take place during the week of 24th April will be announced later in the term.
