TX Science Day 2017

31 March 2017

Science has always been awesome, few can contest this fact, however, this year at TX we may have surpassed even our own scientific awesomeness. Science day 2017 actually technically started not on Tuesday the 28th of March, but at 1:45pm the previous day.

The delightful Ms Bee from AP2 came over and gave us a crash course in the three main disciplines of Science. We looked at Chemistry, Biology and Physics. Some F3 children tried to control lightning with their fingertips, while others had the chance to put their fingers inside an actual real animal’s heart. Of course, no Science Assembly would be complete without an epic explosion, so that too took place in the hall.

Then, we were all set for Wednesday’s main event. The Science, experiments and investigations that took place were too numerous to possibly mention them all. We looked at some of the things that friction gets up to, what you can do with electricity, what happens when you break the surface tension of water, what makes a good phone case and, we also had some skeletal remains to identify.

Needless to say, Science Day 2017 was epic and we have high hopes for the future generation of scientists.
