British International School HCMC took 19 students from years 7 to 9 for a whirlwind adventure of Drama and performance. Over the course of the the weekend the students took part in 8 workshops where they learnt about different Drama practitioners as well as new skills and styles of theatre that they could use and explore.
We were also lucky enough to have a gala dinner and disco as well as a Thai cultural evening where there were beautiful displays of traditional Thai dancing complemented by delicious Thai food and the change for our students to try out their own Thai dancing skills alongside the professionals.
The festival culminated in 5 impressive and varied performances from the students that they had created over the weekend. These performances ranged from naturalistic role plays to immersive audience interactions, to choreographed group ensemble pieces and all were of an amazing quality.
The FOBISIA Drama festival is always one of the highlights of our year and this time was no different, our students have come away with new friends, experiences and skills and with an even stronger passion for the performing arts and all that they can achieve.
