The Goblins Next Door

26 May 2017

Today, Milepost 1 wowed their audience with their fantastic singing, dancing and acting as they told the story of ‘The Goblins Next Door’.

  • Goblin

Grumpy Goblins, friendly fairies, polite pixies and wise woodland animals took to the stage for the Milepost 1 production, ‘The Goblins Next Door.’

All the creatures lived in peace and harmony in Fairy Dell until an annoying family of Goblins moved in! These bothersome neighbours wreaked havoc and chaos which led to a very unhappy community. The rude Goblins spoilt Bunches the Fairy’s birthday, disrupted the Fairy Dell talent show, mocked their neighbours - generally causing mayhem.

Despite their actions, with the help of their friends, the Goblins saw the error of their ways and turned over a new leaf. They all lived happily ever after!

Taking part in ‘The Goblins Next Door’ will give the Year 1s and 2s memories that they will keep for the rest of their lives.  There are also many educational benefits that come with being involved with a performance like this; the development of communication skills and collaboration.  Having the opportunity to express themselves as another character allows many children to grow in confidence, and to develop empathy towards others as they consider how their character is responding in different situations.  The children develop creativity as they work out how to deliver their lines or sing their songs.  All of these were evident in today’s performance.
