Milepost 1 Speech Contest

02 June 2017

Today Milepost 1 delivered their speeches on the subject of, ‘My Favourite …’

  • MP1 Speech 1-min
  • MP1 Speech 3-min
  • MP1 Speech 2-min

In Milepost 1 we place a strong emphasis on speaking and listening across the curriculum. Being able to speak confidently is a skill that children will need throughout their lives.

Following on from the success of our recent production, Year 1 and Year 2 took part in their annual speech contest. The finalists: Year 1: Xavier, Emily, Chi Mai and Kiet, and in Year 2: Isaiah, Cognac, Thien Nghi and Vivi, told us about their favourite things. We heard facts and opinions about pets, ice cream, toys, books and places. All of the children spoke with confidence, enthusiasm and expression, engaging their audience.

A huge congratulation to all our finalists. The judges had a very difficult job of choosing first, second and third place. Well done: Isaiah – 3rd Place, Emily – 2nd Place and this year’s Milepost 1 Speech Competition Winner - Thien Nghi.
