BIS Night of the Arts
BIS Night of the Arts, on Tuesday 13 June from 6:30 - 8:00pm is the first event of its kind at An Phu Secondary Campus. The Music, Drama, Art and Design Technology departments will be opening their doors to parents, students and teachers who will be able to see a variety of open rehearsals, performances and exhibitions, including F1 in Schools.
Teachers are looking forward to showcasing their department’s learning activities and students will be on hand to talk about their subject and share their talents. This is a fantastic opportunity to see elements of school life which are usually not on show. No tickets required, see you there!
New PE Uniform
Our new look PE/House T-Shirt is now ready for distribution to students at the start of the next academic year. The existing regular cotton material of the House t-shirt and PE t-shirt will be replaced by a combined PE/House t-shirt produced in high-quality breathable dry-fit material. The PE shorts will also be updated to match. Additional t-shirts may be purchased from the uniform shop.

PTG Donation Distributed
Many parents may not be aware of the wonderful work which our Parent Teacher Group does behind the scenes in so many areas of the school. One of our largest events, the Christmas BISzaar generates a large amount of funds which the PTG then, very generously, donates to our various community service partners. Our school website features an update on how the money from our last Christmas BISzaar was distributed by the PTG.
If you would like to make a difference in the lives of our community partners please send an email to email@example.com to find out how you can help.
Making Smiles Brighter - Toothpaste Collection
Jeremie Luong, from Year 12, and his brother Alois, Year 10, joined forces with our Community Service Department to make a difference in the lives of underprivileged families living in Quang Nam Province. Thanks to our school community’s generous donations we were able to collect an amazing 3,112 tubes of toothpaste for distribution during the upcoming health check program being run by the NGO Vietnam Health Clinic. I am sure the smiles in Quang Nam will be even brighter after the visit.
Rising Stars Football Academy ‘Taster’ Sessions
Rising Stars Football Academy (RSFA) will be starting an exciting new paid extra curricular activity (club) next year to be held on the BIS HCMC field. A free football session will be held next week for those students who might like to join the club. Our school website gives details of the dates and times for students to try out the club next week and also gives more information on this new club.
BIS Aquathlon 2017
Last weekend our intrepid contestants took on the heat and gruelling conditions to compete in the annual BIS Aquathlon. Some strong competition in the pool and in the run led to some excellent times and very close finishes. Mr Phil Husband, Director of PE, gives us an overview of the event and details of the times and placings. Well done to everyone who got out of bed early on a Saturday morning to take up the challenge!
Student Leadership Conference
This weekend sees our school play host to student leaders from across the Nord Anglia Education SE Asia region as we host the inaugural NAE student leadership conference. The theme for the conference is ethical leadership. Students from five of our partner schools will spend two days exploring ideas around this theme, challenging themselves to develop their own leadership abilities and explore ideas to help them become better leaders, not only in their own school community, but to become leaders in a wider world. Our Head Students Carl, Riona, Rosa and Jun Won have played a crucial role in devising the program for the conference, once again showing the depth of leadership skills which exist within our student body. This conference also allows our students to connect with like minded students from across the region, yet another benefit to being part of NAE family. We look forward to another great day tomorrow and for this to be the start of future leadership events.
Looking Forward to Exciting Changes at An Phu Secondary Campus
We are all very excitedly awaiting changes to the campus for the next academic year that will improve the learning and sporting environment for our students. The swimming pool is to benefit from a new look and ventilation system. We will open a new student centre as the hub for all student support services and our reception area will sport a new contemporary look. Our most significant development will be in the Design and Technology department which is undergoing a complete revamp and will provide us with the opportunity to develop student STEAM thinking even further. Finally our basketball courts will all be resurfaced for another year of sporting success!
