NAE is a family of 46 international schools located in 17 countries across China, Europe, Middle East, South East Asia, North and Central America. The schools educate over 39,000 students from pre-school to pre University. This is a really positive thing for BIS HCMC as it enhances our global standing as a school.
NAE is a truly global organisation and its ‘Global Campus’ initiative offers our students and staff many unique opportunities. The Juilliard/Nord Anglia Performing Arts Programme certainly adds great value to the development of our own Performing Arts programme. This summer, one member of our Music department (Ms. Beth Bown) spent a week at Juilliard School in New York where she received quality professional development and met with other music teachers from NAE schools. Additionally, two of our students (Rosa Heuveling Van Beek and Lisa Hagens) spent a week in New York contributing to the UNICEF Sustainable Development Goals initiative which the UN have jointly developed with NAE.
These are wonderful experiences for our staff and students and many others will be given various global opportunities in the future. We are very proud to be a part of Nord Anglia Education and, in turn, we are a hugely respected and high achieving school within the group.
This week, I have attended further assemblies across all the schools as well as ‘Meet the Teacher’ evenings at both Primary Campuses. They were very informative and well organised evenings and it was wonderful to meet an even wider network of parents. I am very keen that parents take the opportunity of introducing themselves to me so, if you do see me around the campuses at any time, please do come and say hello.
I would like to wish you all a very pleasant ‘long’ weekend and a Happy Vietnam National Day.
Mr Anthony Rowlands, Principal
