Book Collection Update
On Thursday morning we reached the number of 263 books! Well done for only 4 mornings of collection. Surprisingly this year, EYFS box is almost empty while the previous years, we received many books for this age group. As we are extending the book collection until next Tuesday, we are hoping to see the number of EYFS books grow.
We have not yet received the number of books collected in APS, however we have heard they were even more motivated this year as the Parent Group has organised a mini draw to thank them. Thank you parents who have been giving gift certificates and vouchers for our APS students. A list of winners and prizes will be given after the draw.
The swap itself will be happening on October 5th and 6th. If you would like to help on the swap day, please, sign up online here.
During the book swap days, parents will read books in Korean, Japanese, French, Chinese and Vietnamese. If you wish to be part of that reading time, please message Anne on the TX general group. Thank you for your support.
Read, but also Sing!
Ms Duyen and Mr Jon have already been working on the Christmas concert to decide which songs the parents’ choir will sing this year. The rehearsals are scheduled to start after the book week celebration. This concert will be the very last one on TX ground; don’t miss the opportunity to join the choir. All children are very happy to see parents joining in and singing as well. You don’t need to be a confident singer; everyone is welcome!
This year the parent choir is also trying to have a special guest with them…no..not Santa Claus (well maybe..) but someone, who, on the very first day of school showed interest in joining the parents. If he is reading our update, well he can be sure he will receive an official invitation to join ;).
Read, but also Socialise!
Sometimes a good book is not enough, meeting friends or making new friends is important as well. Last night, around 90 parents and teachers met in a restaurant in District 3. It was an opportunity for TX parents to meet APP parents and teachers. Glasses of wine, delicious canapés and good conversation were on the menu.
Read, but also run!
All the best (and a lot of fun) to all TX families who will take part in the BBGV fun run this Sunday. Don't forget to send us your pictures.
Wishing everyone an excellent weekend.
Anne on behalf of the Parent Group.
