Wednesday was a tasty day in F3 as all classes travelled by the school bus to St Honore bakery in Thao Dien to help our Little Red Hen buy some bread.

The trip provided an excitement fuelled start to our Talk 4 Writing story of the Little Red Hen. In the story the other characters; the dog, cat and duck, tell the hen “not I” as none of them want to help the hen but luckily in F3 at BIS HCMC we have such kind and helpful children – they all said “I will, I will help” to buy and eat the bread.

We looked at different kinds of bread, we smelled the delicious bread smells in the bakery. Children talked about when they had visited this café or bakery before. Mr Rowlands, our whole school Principal, also joined our visit to help us choose, buy and bring bread back to school to taste. Thanks for joining us Mr Rowlands!

We had such an array of breads back to taste back in school in the ELC. We ate focaccia with tomatoes and olives, croissants, seed bread, sourdough bread, pitta bread, baguette, English muffins, raisin and cinnamon bagels and the bakery very kindly baked us a GIANT bread with the words BIS School along the top. We talked about which was our favourite bread.

Yum, yum!
