BBGV Charity Fun Run 2018

A big thank you to all members of the BIS community who woke up early on a Sunday to support BBGV Charity Fun Run for 2018.

It was wonderful to see the sea of pink, white and blue t-shirts as over 100 of you joined us for a morning of fun!
Did you get your photo with Mr Rowlands?

IB Vietnamese Literature Expedition

We are fortunate here at BIS to be able to offer and benefit from an IB Vietnamese Literature course which encourages our students to consider deeply aspects of history and culture reflected through Vietnamese literature in all its forms.   In order to foster a deep connection with this literature our Vietnamese teaching team recently arranged a very special tour with visits to locations in Quy Non. Each site held strong literary links and they also took the opportunity to learn alongside academics who are both knowledgable and passionate about the works of authors studied by our students.

Jane Tran gives us some insight from the recently returned IB Vietnamese Literature Expedition to Quy Nhon.

A Month of Reading Celebration at the Curve

Our new reading, reflection and quiet study space- The Curve- has been celebrating all through September and beyond with ‘Read a New Book Month’, including teacher book reviews released weekly, our first ‘acoustic lounge’ the year and this week’s Book Week Sale on the Undercroft.

If you are looking for ideas for your next book to read, perhaps you will find inspiration from one of our teacher recommendations, here.

Launch Event for Motorbike Safety in Vietnam

Last Thursday a number of our parents and students participated in the launch of the British Consulate's #KnowSafetyNoAccidents campaign at the Early Years and Infant Campus to raise awareness of the dangers of riding motorbikes in Vietnam.

International Day 2018 - Friday 19th October

It is just two weeks to go to International Day 2018 on Friday 19th October!

A huge thank you to everyone – parents, staff and students for all your efforts in preparation for what is without doubt one of the highlights of our school year.

This year’s International Day promises to be better than ever. As well as our 51 nationalities represented in the Parade of Nations, we currently have a fantastic total of 28 countries featuring in our Country Rooms, Global Food Court and our new for 2018 ‘International STEAM fair’.

We know our students are busy getting their national costumes ready and honing their performances for the Culture Show; whilst parent groups are preparing their Country themed activities.

We appreciate that not everyone is able to participate in the morning’s activities, so we would like to extend an invitation to all parents to join the PTG and all the International Day volunteers for a live screening of the Culture Show and Fashion Show in our refurbished Cafeteria from 12:45 on Friday 19th.

All are welcome to join this celebration of our multicultural BIS community.

If would you like to get involved in any of the country activities contact the Secondary PTG at secondaryptg@bisvietnam.com
