U19b Girls Football vs TAS - Match Report 01/02/2018

08 February 2018

Last Thursday we took part in the first U19 B team match BIS HCMC has ever had, against TAS. The match was held at home, and with a lot of support, and high intensity levels straight from the first whistle, we were successful in our results.

  • U19B Girls Football TAS

The first few minutes were very intense, however an incredible free kick by Rose Mincher put us in the lead, we then began to dominate the game. The next few minutes of the match were very tight, but a goal from Katrina Evans in her first minutes on the field led us to the second half with a secured win.

Throughout the whole game, we all worked the ball up and down the pitch together, and with a rock solid defense by Nina Donnelly and firm goalkeeping by both Sienna and Trang, we had no goals conceded. We started the second half with high spirits, looking to put more balls in the back of the net. The second half was more challenging, and although TAS put up a stronger fight, a very well followed corner by Jasmine Gebbie, put us in a 3-0 lead. We were consistent in the remaining minutes of the game, and with hard work we got the last minute goal we deserved, by Linh Haugan.

We were all very pleased with our performances, and ready to train in order to triumph once again when it comes to our next match. Our coaches voted Anne Linh as player of the match, and the captains player of the match was Sayuri, because of her constant efforts in getting the ball up the pitch, which helped us score some of our goals. With the right amount of spirit and dedication we are now aiming to maintain the winning streak we began last Thursday, to see our efforts pay off at the City Championships.
