U11c Girls Football City Championships - Match Report

18 May 2018

The SISAC Football Tournament was a tough but exciting challenge for the U11 Girls C Team. They had to play three games, each lasting 30 minutes. In the scorching, hot heat this was not easy but all 10 girls persevered, worked hard as a team and demonstrated some good football skills.

The first game was against RISS. BIS dominated the first half, executing accurate passes to one another, creating goal scoring opportunities, however luck was not on our side. During the second half, RISS were awarded a direct free kick, given from a handball infringement. It was a powerful shot over our defensive wall and into the goal. A disappointing 1-0 loss for BIS.

The second game was against ISHCMC. We knew this team would be strong as we played a match against them last week and drew 0-0. We were ready to step up our game and give it everything. ISHCMC were also incredibly determined. BIS girls worked tirelessly in defence, midfield and upfront. Our goalkeeper Kashish made some marvellous and daring saves! Unfortunately, ISHCMC managed to score in the last few minutes of the game making the score 1-0 to ISHCMC.

Despite these two defeats, BIS Girls C Team were not ready to quit as they had one final game to play and were eager to score some goals. Next team up was AMIS. BIS dominated this game and were working exceptionally well together; communicating, passing and moving in to space. Naomi received the ball from Helene, dribbled it down the left wing and kicked the ball with accuracy towards the bottom left hand corner of the goal where it rebounded off the post and went in. Shortly after this goal was conceded, Mei managed to receive the ball from Bao Van, controlled it calmly and passed it beautifully in to the goal making it 2-0 to BIS. This was a quiet game for BIS defenders as AMIS only managed to bring the ball up in to BIS’s half a couple of times. The final score at full time was 4-0 to BIS. Our third and fourth goal scorers were Mei again and Aileen.

Every single one of you has shown fantastic effort and determination, you should be very proud of yourselves. We are now ready for the Primary FOBISIA Games!!

Well done girls!
