A View from the Bridge is set in 1950s America in an Italian American neighbourhood near the Brooklyn Bridge in New York. It follows the main character, Eddie Carbone – a tragic hero, who holds family and honour above all else. Eddie and his wife, Beatrice, have raised a niece as their own but Eddie’s possessive love of her creates conflict between morals, values, honour, cultures and relationships.
