U14 Boys Volleyball City Championships 2018 - Match Report

01 June 2018

The U14 Boys Volleyball team fought hard in the 2018 SISAC City Championships bringing home an incredible 3rd place trophy to add to the collection! Kai Segal provides the highlights...

  • U14 Boys Volleyball City Champs

The whole volleyball squad was anxious for the moment which our short careers had been leading up to. We were all, in some way, a little bit scared because we were 1 for 4 in our season games.

Our first game was against BVIS, our sister school, and it didn't go as well as we had hoped. Due to some mistakes we lost the first set by a wide margin and lost the second set by only 2 points. We were disheartened seeing as this was a team that we should have easily beaten but things do not always go as planned.

Our second game was against the host, ISHCMC. We already knew that they were a strong team, and they managed to show this to us time and again with their volleyball IQ and ability to set up a nice offense. The first set was similar to the second, we would be down by 10 - 12 points and would make a slight comeback so that we would only lose by a few points.

Our third game was the most disappointing by far, we lost the first set 25 - 1 and lost the second set by a good number of points. This loss took a big toll on team morale and was hard to go past this point.

Our final game of the day was against BVIS. We were all determined to win this and we knew what we had done wrong in the first game against them. We won the first set with ease and in the second set, even though they managed to make somewhat of a comeback, we had beaten them again to give us the third place trophy.
