SISAC Swimming City Championships 2019

On Wednesday 27th November the BIS Barracudas competed in the annual SISAC Swimming City Championships. A team of 44 students travelled to ISHCMC to compete against 8 other International Schools in Ho Chi Minh City.

The Barracudas performed to a high standard achieving 94 personal best times. This is an outstanding achievement! The Barracudas also achieved 5 new school records:

  • YunJi (11-12 Girls) 50 Breaststroke
  • Rinka, Surie, Quynh An & Loe (13 – 14 Girls) 200 Freestyle Relay
  • Rinka, Surie, Quynh An & Loe (13 – 14 Girls) 200 Medley Relay
  • Jia Yu, Jeanette, Gemma & Ela (15 and over Girls) 200 Freestyle Relay
  • Jia Yu, Jeanette, Gemma & Ela (15 and over Girls) 200 Medley Relay

The team worked hard throughout the meet, swimming to the best of their abilities. A special mention to both Nicolai and Khoa who competed despite being sick and injured, trying their best to score points for BIS. Overall, BIS placed 2nd by 54 points. A very small margin! It was a fantastic day of competition with many close races.

Swimming competitions require students to swim individually and in teams. Each swimmer scores points for the team and also for their own position in the individual overall standings. Congratulations to the following students who placed in the top 5 for their age category;
