BIS’ Nam Phong Racing present at BESS 2019

Last year, BIS HCMC’s Nam Phong Racing became the most successful F1 in Schools team to ever represent Vietnam in the World Finals of this prestigious STEAM event. As we move into a new year, our latest cohort of engineers, designers, manufacturers and marketers are taking on the Nam Phong Racing brand to represent Vietnam and compete in the 2019 F1 in Schools World Finals later this year.

This week the new team of students took part in the British Educational Suppliers Show (BESS) held in Ho Chi Minh City. Nam Phong Racing were invited by CEO of the F1 in Schools competition Mr Andrew Denford to present at the show, showcasing their progress and achievements in one of the largest STEAM competitions in the world.

The aim of BESS was not only to highlight the success of the team but also to raise awareness of the F1 in Schools competition in Vietnam. The motivation and competitiveness of the students was clearly evident at the exhibition as they presented with great maturity and struck up a lot of interest from the public.

The students have been working extremely hard in preparations for the World Finals 2019 and were grateful for this opportunity by Mr Denford. One of the Nam Phong Racing team members, Carl De Liedekerke said, “The BESS Exhibition was a great opportunity for the team to practice our presentation skills, which will be vital for the World Finals. It also gave us the chance for our team to meet companies for potential sponsorship deals to help fund our trip in 2019”.
