What a wonderful Moon Festival celebration last Friday! The morning began with a spectacular Dragon Dance which we hope you managed to see as it was live streamed via Facebook. Following that, our Vietnamese teachers and students from across the Junior Campus, produced a fabulous assembly which told the story of Vietnamese lanterns and showcased many of the traditions associate with Moon Festival.
The Dragon Dance was performed by the Nho’n Nhia Duong group who ensured that the opening to our special Moon Festival celebrations was jaw dropping! Hardly daring to watch at times, the acrobats performed maneuvers that were incredible! The joy and excitement across the campus was palpable as the children cheered on these amazing performers.
Later on in the day, was the brilliant Moon Festival assembly this year with students from across all year groups. As well as telling the story of the importance of lanterns during this time, students also performed dances, both traditional and with a modern twist added. There was comedy, tragedy, drama and more making it an assembly to remember!
Sincere thanks to all the Vietnamese staff involved. It truly was a beautiful event for all of our students. Thanks to Ms Chi, Ms Dung, Ms Anh, Ms Hien, Ms Ban, Ms Trang, Ms Vy, Ms Nhung, Ms Nhu, Ms Tram and special mention to Ms Ngan who coordinated all in creating this beautiful assembly including costumes, props and decorations.
