The BIS Barracudas competed in the Nord Anglia Global Campus Swim Meet from Monday 16 November – Friday 20 November. All Nord Anglia Schools were invited to take part in this Virtual Swim Meet, where students participated in 25m Freestyle, 100m Freestyle, 100m Freestyle Relay and 400m Freestyle Relay.
A Virtual Swim Meet has been a new experience for our students, requiring them to approach competition with a new mindset of racing the clock to achieve their best result. No longer can we only just race against the person in the same heat as us, our students now approach competition with a wider global mindset, competing against students who are in a different pool, in a different country. For a virtual swim meet students compete in their own pool against the students within their school. All the results are then submitted to Nord Anglia and compared against all other schools.
The Nord Anglia Global Campus Swim Meet involved 28 other schools. This event consisted of over 2000 students. This is one of the largest meets our students have participated in. Every BIS student received a new Personal Best time, which is an outstanding achievement. We also saw many of our school records broken, 20 New School Records were achieved during this swim meet!
The BIS Barracudas received a podium finish in every event we participated in. A total of 18 Gold, 25 Silver and 15 Bronze Medals were awarded to our students and staff. This is a fantastic result! Their amazing performances also resulted in BISHCMC placing 1st Overall on the Nord Anglia Leaders Board.
Congratulations to all the BIS Barracudas who participated and contributed to our outstanding results. A big thank you to all staff and parents that assisted and supported the Aquatics Department during this week of competition.
