Each month, one student from both Year 12 and Year 13 are selected from IBDP subject groups based on them displaying traits from the IB Learner Profile. The IB Learner Profile represents 10 attributes valued by IB World Schools. We believe these attributes can help individuals and groups become responsible members of local, national and global communities. The winners each month receive the accolade of winning, a 100RMB gift card and their photos on display in the library for all of the school community to see.
For the IB Learner Profile characteristic 'Thinker', the Year 12 Student of the Month is Adrian Pailer.
Economics Teacher Mr. Brigstock highlighted several LP traits in this student.
“Adrian is the most vocal participant in the class. He asks questions; answers questions; challenges the assumptions and theory that is provided to him in class (Thinker).
When I set the class the challenge of teaching me economic theory with real-world examples, this student with the help of a peer took the lead (Communicator).
Not only that, he did a solid job. (Knowledgeable)
When I asked for support in making my IB video for parents, this student immediately volunteered and made positive contributions. (Caring)
For the IB Learner Profile characteristic 'Inquirer', the Year 13 Student of the Month is Anna Unteutsch Reimann.
Geography Teacher Mr Planchant said the following:
“Anna has impressed me so much since beginning the IBDP course. Throughout the course she has sustained her enthusiasm for the subject going above and beyond what has been required of her. Most recently during the writing of her EE, I was particularly impressed with her inquiry and research skills. This young lady can learn independently and takes enormous pride in her work.”
Congratulations Adrian and Anna!
BSB Primary STEAM Week is a unique opportunity for our students to engage in exciting, hands-on activities that combine creativity, design, and problem-solving.
Year 5’s PIAW allowed the children to bring their learning to life and transport themselves to the period of time they explored in class.
