What’s the best thing about Year 6 Play in a Week?

Year 6 had the honour and privilege of doing the first ‘Play in a Week’ for the school year.

It is a fantastic concept where students spend one week working on making the best play they can. They are responsible for designing and producing all the sets and props required for the play. They work together on their scenes to improve their acting and ability to project their voice.

It was wonderful to see everyone’s confidence grow on stage as the week progressed. The week ended with Show Day, performing the play for three different audiences. The final performance was the highlight of the week, with the parents being able to attend and enjoy the play live.

The theme of the play, ‘Let Loose,’ was teamwork, and it was amazing to see Year 6 display such great teamwork throughout the week.

Mark added, “It was really fun and I liked how the year group became more united.”

Additionally, Lara enjoyed the whole week, she observed herself and her friends struggle with everything they had to learn, and how they persevered until they were successful, and she found one of the biggest challenges was not laughing at the funniest parts of the play.

The Year 6 teachers were very impressed by all of the students, and hope that they are very proud of themselves.
