Walking with Dinosaurs - Walking with Dinosaurs
Year 2 are excited again. We’re always excited, but even moreso this week as we have started our new topic of dinosaurs! Whenever we start a new topic, it is always fun to see what knowledge the children already have and can bring along with them to our lessons. To find this out, we created an open forum for any dinosaur information at all! Everybody got post-it notes, we presented an open board and then… GO! The children filled out all of the amazing facts they already knew and stuck them to the board for us all to see. Some were names of favourite dinosaurs (t-rex), some were opinions (“they are scary!”) and some were fantastic facts (“dinosaurs lived millions of years ago”). We then took part in a true or false quiz to see just how much we do know already. Could dinosaurs fly? Did they lay eggs? Some of the answers were very surprising to us! It’s going to be great to see how our understanding of this topic develops over the next few weeks but for now we’ll simply enjoy still being excited!
