You can see it’s been a busy week by the number of photos and updates on our Facebook page. Please take the time to enjoy photos of these events – and we always appreciate your comments!

Video link our Global Campus – Big Draw. This is a wonderful short video showing how the whole school came together to celebrate our inner artist!

Check out our Sodexo Christmas Card Competition winners. Our students were tasked with creating a festive card with an environmental twist. Congratulations to Annie Bai in Year 8.

Results of our NAIS House Competition to create a Christmas Card will be announced next week.

Our Year 4s explored the science of solids and liquids changing states, as well as their design and technology skills (DT) through the medium of chocolate. Click here for some very messy children loving their chocolate truffle making experiments.

Designing hats “Fit for the Queen” has been our Year 4 art project and we were delighted to see the fruits of their labour this week!

U14 Basketball Knights travelled to Discovery Bay for a tournament where they once again showed how rapidly our teams are coming together and making real progress. Well done to our Knights, Michael Chen, Ryan Chu, John Zhao, Louis and Leo Zhang, Jamie Law, Toby Fung, Cedric Cheng and Caleb Herron.

Year 6s created a Living Museum this week. From Billie Jean King to Oprah, from Cleopatra to Buddha, we saw an amazing array of people in today's Living Museum. Parents were invited to quiz and guess who our Year 6s were. Take a look at this video and see if you can guess “Who’s Who”.

Our Mo-bros – Mr Pate, Mr Reid, Mr MacKinnon, Mr Calderwood and Mr Malone – raised almost $18,000 to support men’s health charities this November by sporting some impressive moustaches for the full four weeks. I think they were all delighted to reach for a razor on 1 December, but not before we took these grizzly photos!

And finally, a big Facebook welcome back to our NAIS teddy bear, Norman Jupiter. He’s been travelling to our sister schools in Beijing and has been learning a lot about life in our capital city. I think he was glad to get back to Hong Kong to thaw out his frozen toes.

Mr Cooklin has been reflecting on our PTA and its amazing achievements, as well as looking ahead to events in the new year. He’s also encouraging parents to get involved in whatever way they can.

Today, Mr MacKinnon challenged all our students to create an app. If your child is interested, please encourage them to go and talk to Mr MacKinnon and he – and our other teachers – will be on hand for support and guidance. The winning apps will be displayed for everyone to see in our Reception area, where our new ‘Innovation Station’ will be located. Something to think about over the Xmas holidays!
