As well as being a great way to improve your sporting abilities or design and art skills, if your child needs a little extra boost to their conversation skills, then these are fun ways to improve their spoken English. Non-NAE students are also welcome.

 Secondary Assembly

Today, Head of Year 7 and 8 Mrs Reid, talked today about a very important message for our older students: what is respect and what does it look like? Our students said it's about how you treat people, friends, things (even if they don't belong to you - such as your school ipad!) and most importantly, yourself. By respecting yourself, you can gain respect from others too.

High Commendations in Music went to:

Year 7: Elena Gonzalez, Chloe Yuen

Year 8: Sophia Gong, Selina Pan

Secondary Residential Trips (Packing lists & change of flight time)

Letters were sent out with a packing list for the Secondary Residential Trip. Please make sure you read this and note that the flight time from Hong Kong to Vietnam has changed to mid-day. Please contact Simone.Reid@nais.hk with any questions.

Global Campus Creative Writing Competition

Global Campus Lead, Mr Robinson, today announced the pieces of writing that we will be putting forward to the 42-school wide Global Campus competition. Well done to our winners: Beatrice, Janice, Callie, Elliot and Amaya. They all received a Creative Writing Anthology from 2015. We will be sharing their writing on Firefly shortly.

Calling all Parent Musicians & Singers!

A message from Miss Rowan: “We will be having a performance evening in June and are keen to have a performance from parents. If you play an instrument or sing and would be keen to be involved, please email me at naomi.rowan@nais.hk.  I look forward to hearing from you.”

Update from the Library

If you’re looking for tips on what books your children may like to read, then our Library website is a great place to start. You can access the page through Firefly.

Currently, Miss Richardson is encouraging our students to take part in the Golden Dragon Book Awards. All you have to do is read as many of the books in the Golden Dragon list (look under Ruby, the red dragon, in the library) and tell Miss Richardson which is your favourite. She will tally the results and announce the winners in Term 3.

Finally, I hope all the Year 7s and 8s are looking forward to their Movie Night in the Hall this evening. They all voted for the movie that they wanted to watch and I expect they’ll have a great time.

Have a lovely weekend.
