Just like last year we were left wondering if the rain was going to make Movie Night difficult. However a dry afternoon reprieve enabled set up to go ahead on the covered courts. Families started arriving from around 5pm with many more of them having taken up the offer to hire beanbags this year to make the seating just that bit more luxurious. Background music played to get everyone in the right mood for watching the film. The DCA and the wonderful parent volunteers were dishing out beanbags and selling popcorn and candy floss faster than it could be made.
Eventually the daylight dimmed and the stars came out and it was time for Ralph Breaks the Internet to begin. A quiet hush came over the almost filled seating area as we settled down with our snacks to watch the film.
We hosted around 140 Families on the night. Thank you to you all for supporting this popular event. And an extra thanks to the volunteers on the popcorn and candy floss stall for your time and efforts. We look forward to seeing what will be voted in for next year’s event!
