Dear DCIS Parents,
We have had a short but busy penultimate half term in our Secondary School. The Inter-house swimming galas and water polo competitions kicked us off early in May. Well done to all who competed. We also saw our strong Athletics team compete in the ACSIS Middle School finals with some fantastic results. Congratulations to all athletes on your achievements!
The biggest event of the half term and very much enjoyed by all was Diversity Day and the celebration of our diverse community at Dover Court. It was lovely seeing students discussing their definitions of diversity as they posted their ideas on the walls of the entrance. We very much enjoyed having former Great Britain wheelchair rugby player Andy Barrow join us for the day. Andy’s career encompassed three Paralympic Games, three World Championships, and five European Championships, where his team won three consecutive gold medals.
The cast of the Secondary Production Arabian Nights are well into their rehearsals and we are looking forward to seeing the result of their hard work in June.
We have also celebrated the fantastic achievements of our Year 11 students in a whole school assembly dedicated to them. We are very proud of the young men and women they have become since joining Dover Court. I know they are all busy revising both in and out of school and I wish them and our Year 13 students the very best for this exam season.
Mr Craig Bull
Head of Secondary School
