Dear DCIS Parents and Guardians,
I try to get to all three assemblies each week, especially the ones run by our children and students as they are so inspiring.
Last week I was also honoured to be able to give out the certificates to the children in Upper Primary who were voted onto the Student Council by their year group. The Secondary School has had a Council for a couple of years now so it is great that our Primary students now also have an opportunity to discuss how to improve life on the Dover Court campus it also gives an invaluable leadership opportunity for the children involved. The successful candidates first had to convince their class that they were worthy of nomination and then went forward to each year group for final selection.
The new House system has also given us an opportunity for leadership experience in the form of House Captains. These were chosen by PE staff to allow them to support the developing house system. There are many other ways for children and students to develop their leadership skills. Reading to younger children or helping in the library are just two examples.
Have a great week.
Mr. Christopher Short
Principal

Lunch Service: Sodexo
As previously communicated the main cafeteria is not accepting cash payments, but the DCIS Café will continue to accept cash. Although, the cash facility in the DCIS Café is really designed to accommodate parents for occasional use, we recommend that all students are signed up for a Campus Online account. This limits cash on site and allows parents to track purchases that students make during the day through their Campus Online accounts. You can access the Campus Online page at this link.

Deadlines
- Visual Arts Competition - Wednesday 21st March 2018
UNICEF Global Goals Survey – 25,000 Voices
- Now online is a Global Goals Survey created by UNICEF uniquely for Nord Anglia Schools!
-
The information collected will be collated and presented at the UN Summit this summer!
-
It is a great opportunity for students to feedback the work they are doing around the Global Goals and to make their voices heard.
-
Something incredible about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in comparison with the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), is the drive to get the youth voice included and acknowledged.
-
Our students are a part of something incredibly special and they have the power to make a difference!
-
UNICEF and Nord Anglia want to hear from at least 25,000 students for the NAE Global Goals Survey by 30th March!
-
Let’s make it happen!
Visual Arts Competition
-
The Visual Arts Competition is still open.
-
Students from Year 4 and upwards are invited to take part.
-
We have posted all winning entries from the Creative Writing Competition on Global Campus Online for classrooms and schools to choose which piece(s) to illustrate.
-
A reminder that students can use any medium they choose (e.g. painting, drawing, collage, sculpting, photography, stamping, digital art, etc).
-
Deadline Wednesday 21st March 2018
-
Please hand your entry to your class teacher or form tutor.
Have a great week everyone. Please don't hesitate to contact us with any queries you may have, and keep in contact! We love to see and hear what you have been up to with the Global Campus.
Many thanks,
The Global Campus Team
