The long awaited ENASA Basketball weekend finally arrived. 21 athletes from BISB participated in the season’s main tournament organised for U19 students. The very early departure from school was followed by a quick and quiet bus drive to our sister school in Bratislava, Slovakia.

NAE schools from Spain, Switzerland, Poland and the Czech Republic took part in the event along with the hosts and our squads from Budapest. The Wolves had to face a series of challenging, and at times difficult, games over the two days. The girls achieved a fantastic 2nd place being beaten only by the favourites from Madrid. It was an exceptional result considering the low average age of our team. The boys experienced demanding group matches against teams of older students who had a remarkable height advantage over our squad. They did not lose their perseverance despite the many injuries that hindered several players from fully participating. Our students demonstrated exemplary attitudes and took part in the whole event with dignity, showing the highest levels of integrity and excellent sportsmanlike behaviour.

A huge thanks to Ms Scaramella, Mr Hammel and Mr Marossy for coaching the teams and looking after our athletes during the two day tournament.
Teams are now training for the season ending DVAC Tournament on Saturday 2nd March for the girls at BISB and 9th March for the boys in Bratislava.

Go WOLVES!
