Valentina Kicker was recognized as one of the highest scorers in the region for her First Language German result.

“I did expect to get a fairly good grade on my German Exam because of the grades I got throughout the year and the score I got on my mock but  didn’t expect to get a high achievement for it.” said Valentina.

She also shared what she felt her secret for success was and said: “I think for languages like German you really just have to read a lot and try to love the language and have fun exploring it. Mr Mende was a great teacher and he made sure we all knew exactly what to expect in the German First language exam. We did pretty much all past papers available.”

Mr Richard Thornhill, Principal of The British School of Beijing, said: “I am absolutely delighted for Valentina, Josh and Sam who achieved some of the highest examination results in IGCSE German, Biology and DT within China. Their high academic achievements are the result of hard work, dedicated support from home and the expert help of their teachers.

This year our IGCSE results reflect our aspiration and determination for outstanding student success. This is shared by all in the BSB community and I am exceptionally proud of all our students and our staff here at The British School of Beijing.”

Rob Khan, Head of Secondary, said: “We are really pleased with the top IGCSE and IB results this summer and the students receiving the CIE Awards highlight how well our students perform; our students produced outstanding results and we are extremely proud of all their achievements. Teachers' hard work, parents' engagement and students' commitment to achieve have contributed to such outstanding outcomes.”
