On Wednesday 10th November, the whole school celebrated #CallToEarth Day to help our planet!
In collaboration with UNICEF, all students are challenged to participate in ongoing projects on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) regarding social and economic development issues that we hope to collectively achieve by 2030.
Therefore, BSB is proud to support this global event initiated by CNN, joining forces with schools, individuals & organisations around the world to raise awareness of environmental issues & conservation education.
#CallToEarth Day
On 10th November, BSB students, teachers and staff wore blue or green just like the colours of our planet! They were encouraged to bring 10 RMB to donate to TeamTrees so that more trees can be planted.
In addition, all students had one lesson in class about what #CallToEarth Day is and what we can do to protect the environment. Some classes took part in a quiz, watched videos about our precious planet or researched vegetarian or vegan recipes.
At lunchtime, students did not eat meat or drink milk to help animals across the world and also to reduce our waste. Our chef Kevin prepared some special plant-based menu and the food was delicious, especially the tofu dish.
Our Eco-Committee members interviewed some of the students and teachers about #CallToEarth Day and this is what they said:
Overall, everyone had a fun day and learnt a lot about the ways we can protect the earth. We are looking forward to the next eco event!
