"The Weekly BSB" is back! Introducing our Young Journalists Sep 2022

Our student e-news "The Weekly BSB" is back again this year by popular demand!

This is an update put together by our Young Journalist Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) which is made up of students in Years 5 and 6. Students report on interesting events, what's going on around school, conduct interviews and take their own pictures too. 

A new team of Young Journalists has now been formed for the new school year. Please read an introduction and interesting facts about our students, and why they want to be a Young Journalist!

Aditi (L)

1) Which class and house are you in? 6AW Romans.

2) What is your nationality? Indian.

3) How long have you been at BSB? 3 Years.

4) What is your favourite colour and why? Neon pink because I like bright colors and feel happy.

5) What do you enjoy doing outside of school? What I like to do is to play with my older brother.

6) What is your favourite subject in school and why? English and Math because we are doing text maps in English, in math we are learning to round up.

7) Why did you apply to become a Young Journalist? Because I was in Young Journalist last year and it was really fun and I enjoyed Interviewing people.

8) If you could have one super power, what would it be and why? Time stop.

Aiden (R)

1) Which class and house are you in? 5C Saxons. 

2) What is your nationality? Korean.

3) How long have you been at BSB? 1 year.

4) What is your favourite colour and why? Blue because I like the water.

5) What do you enjoy doing outside of school? Football.

6) What is your favourite subject in school and why? PE because I like activities.

7) Why did you apply to become a Young Journalist? So I can interview people!

8) If you could have one super power, what would it be and why? Teleport – I would go everywhere at any time.

 

Alec (L)

2) What is your nationality? Hong Kong.

3) How long have you been at BSB? 1 year.

4) What is your favourite colour and why? Neon cyan because it looks futuristic.

5) What do you enjoy doing outside of school? TinkerCad/Coding.

6) What is your favourite subject in school and why? Computing because I get to code.

7) Why did you apply to become a Young Journalist? Because it sounds interesting and fun.

8) If you could have one super power, what would it be and why? Lunar moon because I can fly and be very swift agile and stealthy and disappear in shadows and hide my self in the moon light.

2) What is your nationality? England and Romania.

3) How long have you been at BSB? 7 years.

4) What is your favourite colour and why? Yellow because it is a bright colour.

5) What do you enjoy doing outside of school? Playing with cats.

6) What is your favourite subject in school and why? Science because we do a lot about planets.

7) Why did you apply to become a Young Journalist? I like interviewing other people and my uncle is a journalist.

8) If you could have one super power, what would it be and why? Being able to freeze time because you can do anything that is possible.

4) What is your favourite colour and why? My favorite color is turquoise because it looks nice.

5) What do you enjoy doing outside of school? Slumber Parties with my friends.

6) What is your favourite subject in school and why? Art because I like to draw.

7) Why did you apply to become a Young Journalist? Because I was in young journalist last year and I really enjoyed it !!!!!

8) If you could have one super power, what would it be and why? Invisibility, time control or flying because I want        to do things I like in my world when I was invisible or time controlling.

4) What is your favourite colour and why? Blue because I like the sea.

5) What do you enjoy doing outside of school? Football.

6) What is your favourite subject in school and why? Art because it is satisfying.

7) Why did you apply to become a Young Journalist? Because this is my dream!

8) If you could have one super power, what would it be and why? Talk to animals because I want to be a real life version of Doctor Dolittle.

Daniel (L)

2) What is your nationality? USA.

3) How long have you been at BSB? 8 years.

4) What is your favourite colour and why? Dark purple because it looks cool.

5) What do you enjoy doing outside of school? Playing video games.

6) What is your favourite subject in school and why? Mathematics because it is hard!

7) Why did you apply to become a Young Journalist? I want to do more things that are actually financial.

8) If you could have one super power, what would it be and why? Force lightning because it looks cool.

Ethan C (R)

2) What is your nationality? I am Chinese and American and Romanian.

3) How long have you been at BSB? I have been at BSB for 3 years three weeks and two days.

4) What is your favourite colour and why? My favorite color is gold because I can use gold coloured things to buy a mansion.

5) What do you enjoy doing outside of school? I enjoy playing basketball, swimming and drums.

6) What is your favourite subject in school and why? My favorite class is guided reading because I love reading a lot.

7) Why did you apply to become a Young Journalist? I have taken amazing photos (that’s what my Mom says) and I can type really fast.

8) If you could have one super power, what would it be and why? If I had one superpower it would be that I will have a sheath with a sword and a bracelet that can transform into a shield.

Ethan Z (L)

2) What is your nationality? Canadian.

3) How long have you been at BSB? 6 and a half years.

4) What is your favourite colour and why? Turquoise because I like blue and green and turquoise is the combination of both.

5) What do you enjoy doing outside of school? Playing ice hockey.

6) What is your favourite subject in school and why? Physical education because I like sports.

7) Why did you apply to become a Young Journalist? Because I like interviewing teachers and students.

8) If you could have one super power, what would it be and why? It would be stopping time so I can sleep more.

Hyunjun (R)

2) What is your nationality? South Korean.

3) How long have you been at BSB? 2 years.

4) What is your favourite colour and why? Orange because it makes me happy when I’m in the blue zone!

5) What do you enjoy doing outside of school? Physical Education.

6) What is your favourite subject in school and why? Science because I can learn something new.

7) Why did you apply to become a Young Journalist? Because I want to try to interview teachers, staff and students.

8) If you could have one super power, what would it be and why? Flying in the sky because I can travel quick and see the world very well in the sky.

Jenny (L)

4) What is your favourite colour and why? Green because my house is Saxons.

5) What do you enjoy doing outside of school? Doing Language other than English (LOTE.)

6) What is your favourite subject in school and why? PE because it is time to exercise my body!

7) Why did you apply to become a Young Journalist? Because I have time to interview teachers and improve my writing and listening skills.

8) If you could have one super power, what would it be and why? Being invisible because if I’m late too school I can sneak in!

Johnny (R)

3) How long have you been at BSB? 1 year.

4) What is your favourite colour and why? Blue because I like the sea.

5) What do you enjoy doing outside of school? Reading.

6) What is your favourite subject in school and why? Math because I like working with numbers.

7) Why did you apply to become a Young Journalist? I think because it is fun.

8) If you could have one super power, what would it be and why? To turn the whole world into Minecraft because I like playing Minecraft.

Justin (L)

3) How long have you been at BSB? Six and a half years.

4) What is your favourite colour and why? Turquoise because that is the colour of lightning.

5) What do you enjoy doing outside of school? Playing basketball.

6) What is your favourite subject in school and why? Physical education because I like to move.

7) Why did you apply to become a Young Journalist? I like having responsibilities.

Max (R)

1) Which class and house are you in? 5NC Normans.

2) What is your nationality? I am from Singapore and I speak English and Chinese.

3) How long have you been at BSB? I joined in teddys and have been here for 9 years.

4) What is your favourite colour and why? Green because it’s the color of nature.

5) What do you enjoy doing outside of school? Gaming on a PS5 because the controller feels good.

6) What is your favourite subject in school and why? Math because I’m good at it.

7) Why did you apply to become a Young Journalist? I applied because I am a curious boy so this is a perfect job for me.

8) If you could have one super power, what would it be and why? Turn back time because I can play until night time and then just turn back time and do my homework.

Michelle O (L)

2) What is your nationality? Kenyan.

3) How long have you been at BSB? 4-5 years.

4) What is your favourite colour and why? Ocean Blue because I love the ocean and swimming.

5) What do you enjoy doing outside of school? I like to play with my baby brother!

6) What is your favourite subject in school and why? Science because my whole life I’ve been in school we have done experiments.

7) Why did you apply to become a Young Journalist? I thought the Young Journalist would be a fun thing to do this year.

8) If you could have one super power, what would it be and why? Invisibility.

2) What is your nationality? I’m from Hong Kong. 

3) How long have you been at BSB? I have been here for 6 years.

4) What is your favourite colour and why? Yellow because it’s the color of the sun.

5) What do you enjoy doing outside of school? I like to hang out with my parents.

6) What is your favourite subject in school and why? Art because I like to spend time on it.

7) Why did you apply to become a Young Journalist? Because I want to try new things!!!

8) If you could have one super power, what would it be and why? Invisibility because it’s cool and I can do whatever I want!!

4) What is your favourite colour and why? Green and purple cause I just like the colour.

5) What do you enjoy doing outside of school? Playing football and ice hockey.

6) What is your favourite subject in school and why? PE because you can be more productive.

7) Why did you apply to become a Young Journalist? I applied to be a young journalist because I was in it last time and it was fun.

8) If you could have one super power, what would it be and why? Infinite wishes because I would just wish for more super powers.

3) How long have you been at BSB? I have been at BSB for 3 weeks and two days.

4) What is your favourite colour and why? My favourite color is black and white because there is a lot they can go well with.

5) What do you enjoy doing outside of school? Ice skating and roller skating and shopping and eating.

6) What is your favourite subject in school and why? English because it is so easy for me.

7) Why did you apply to become a Young Journalist? Cause I thought it will be very fun.

8) If you could have one super power, what would it be and why? Smart cause l will know all the answers and be smart.

Sean (L)

2) What is your nationality? I was born in America but live in China.

3) How long have you been at BSB? 1 year.

4) What is your favourite colour and why? Yellow because yellow means happy.

5) What do you enjoy doing outside of school? Playing video games, drawing, reading, sport and playing the guitar.

6) What is your favourite subject in school and why? Math because solving out a problem is very interesting and PE because It will be fun to score a goal.

7) Why did you apply to become a Young Journalist? I find it interesting!

8) If you could have one super power, what would it be and why? Stop time then I have more time to sleep.

Sophie (R)

2) What is your nationality? German / Chinese.

3) How long have you been at BSB? 8 years.

4) What is your favourite colour and why? Purple because it represents loyalty.

5) What do you enjoy doing outside of school? Drawing and playing with cats.

6) What is your favourite subject in school and why? English because I write lots of stories.

7) Why did you apply to become a Young Journalist? I was in the young journalist last year and I really liked it.

8) If you could have one super power, what would it be and why? Mind control because I like being in control of things!

Tamea (L)

4) What is your favourite colour and why? Blue, because I like the blue sky.

5) What do you enjoy doing outside of school? Playing with my dog.

6) What is your favourite subject in school and why? P.E because it is fun and I can stay healthy.

7) Why did you apply to become a Young Journalist? Because I love creating newspapers and it is fun for me.

8) If you could have one super power, what would it be and why? I would like to fly because I can go everywhere.

Tashvi (R)

4) What is your favourite colour and why? Blue because I like the rain.

5) What do you enjoy doing outside of school? Pirate ship (outside school).

6) What is your favourite subject in school and why? Math because it is cool to calculate the numbers.

7) Why did you apply to become a Young Journalist? I think it is good to interview people.

8) If you could have one super power, what would it be and why? To teleport so you can go anywhere you want.

4) What is your favourite colour and why? Blue and red because blue resembles the sea and ocean and red because of delicious red apples.

5) What do you enjoy doing outside of school? Build Lego.

6) What is your favourite subject in school and why? Science because we get to do experiments.

7) Why did you apply to become a Young Journalist? Because it has been my dream to be one when I am older.

8) If you could have one super power, what would it be and why? My dream super power is to be able to fly because I can see the world without buying an airplane ticket.

2) What is your nationality? I came from Korea.

3) How long have you been at BSB? I already came for about two and a half years.

4) What is your favourite colour and why? I like yellow because yellow is bright and fresh.

5) What do you enjoy doing outside of school? Playing video games.

6) What is your favourite subject in school and why? PE because I like running around, being active.

7) Why did you apply to become a Young Journalist? Because I think writing newspaper is cool and there is not much things to do at break time.

8) If you could have one super power, what would it be and why? It would be flying because it makes me happy.
