Year One’s study into Epic Events concluded with a STEAM project where students designed, created and tested a range of aeroplane designs. This STEAM project was a contextualised link between the IC unit ‘Epic Events’ and an English non-fiction unit ‘Creating Fact Files’.
The Virtual Nord Anglia Music Festival Live, this year’s most anticipated event, saw over a hundred young musicians and singers aged 9 - 18 from eight Nord Anglia Education schools across Europe gather together in snowy Moscow. From 23rd to 25th March, students had a chance to indulge in a vast array of workshops and compete for fame and glory.
On Friday 19th March, we celebrated Red Nose Day at The International School of Moscow in style! Rosinka was decorated from top to bottom in red, and everyone got into the comic spirit by wearing red noses, dressing in red and sharing silly 'red' jokes.
Lower Campus students enthusiastically got their teeth into this year’s Science Week topic, Plastic Fantastic! Throughout the week, children learned about issues surrounding the planet’s plastic use. They then came together as one to explore, plan and create ways to find a solution to the problem on a school, national and global scale.
This term at the International School of Moscow Rosinka, our students have shown an enthusiastic attitude towards the challenges presented by plastic pollution.
ISM Rosinka students have immersed themselves into the written word by each focusing on a class novel that has stimulated their creativity and curiosity. With books ranging from Roald Dahl classics to new takes on beloved fairytales, such as Goldilocks and the Three Dinosaurs, a love of books has been easy to inspire.
As we live through a time of closed borders and travel restrictions, never before have we desired so much to embark on a journey to our favourite or hitherto unknown destinations. This year's Book Week focused on this very journey to other worlds through reading.
Recently, students of ISM Lower Campus wandered through a universe of literature for a whole week of celebrations. The children were delighted to spend time getting to know their favourite books in more detail than ever before. It was a joy to see so many children absorbed in the world of books!
During February, ISM Rosinka hosted their first ever Virtual Talent Show. Fifteen students from Year 1 to Year 6 competed in our annual event, ‘ISM’s Got Talent’.
We are very proud of the array of talents that our students have to offer at ISM and we love to celebrate this. Even in the midst of the coldest of winter month the warmth came through in each of our Talent Show performances.
Our students’ academic and personal achievements are a source of great pride for us. Today, we celebrate the incredible accomplishment of Shunichiro in Year 12, who has been awarded a medal for achieving the highest score in Russia for the IGCSE Mathematics (Higher Tier) examination.
