Teachers have used this interest to challenge the children and extend their learning across different areas of the curriculum. The children were encouraged to create a plan of an animal, vehicle or building they wanted to make. This sparked conversations about the different shapes, colours and materials that could be used to achieve the planned effect. Once their drawing was complete, the children were challenged further to add captions in the form of sounds or words. You can see an example of a child's plan for a horse and the finished model they completed using materials.
