Here at DCIS, while Secondary School have been targeting on 'Zero Hunger' for the Global Challenge, in Primary School we decided to focus on UNICEF goal 'Good Health and Wellbeing' in our effort towards achieving the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Coincidentally, this goal coincided well with the DCIS Family Health Week. We are currently filming different activities across the year groups and have made a collaborative video which is also on the school YouTube site.
We have set up a Wake and Shake programme where children will be taking part in daily exercise at convenient points throughout the day. This has been kick started this week but will continue for the rest of the year. We are developing a bank of videos of the Primary School students dancing/exercising for their peers to watch and imitate.
It has been a marvelous way for children across all of Primary School to participate in this lively promotion of 'Good Health and Well Being'. Apart from keeping active, this will also increase student focus and concentration in the classroom.
