NSU Learns Beethoven’s 5th Symphony with Kathryn Andersen

At Dover Court International School, music is for all—whether you are a talented instrumentalist, an aspiring composer, or a student keen to explore something new. The music curriculum is designed to be inclusive and inspiring, offering students of all ages and abilities access to high-quality music-making through various opportunities. This spotlight on student musicians highlights the stories of Olympe, Max, and Seojung, who reflect on how their musical journeys have enriched their school experiences, fostered personal growth, and instilled lifelong skills that extend far beyond the classroom.

We have enjoyed an action-packed term in Secondary, welcoming in the Year of the Snake, with many highlights and an apology from the off that these words will never do full justice to all that has been achieved this term.

As we finish Term 2, I wish to acknowledge the astonishing range of activities that the Dover Court students have been involved in from January to March 2025. You will see in the pieces from David Buckley and Rachel Edwards that participation levels are extraordinary in everything from music and drama to competitions of all types, sports expeditions, and exhibitions.

When I wrote my first newsletter for Term 2 back in January, I expressed that whilst shorter in length than Term 1, I felt we would see great growth in our learners during Term 2. I can safely say that this has certainly been the case, with so many rich learning experiences leading to an increase in confidence and flourishing both within and beyond the classroom.
