On Tuesday 6th June, we held the third session of child protection training for parent volunteers in the DCIS Cafe. All staff, including teachers, teaching assistants, and external contractors that work on the school premise have undertaken this training.

This is another key part in a raft of measures that we have put in place to ensure that children at DCIS are safe. We are very fortunate at DCIS that we have a large number of parents who volunteer on a regular basis to help work with our children.

These parents were taught to recognise the possible indicators of different types of abuse and most importantly what to do if they have a concern about a child’s welfare. There will be another session on 21st June, parent volunteers should have received an email notification. If you are a regular parent volunteer and have not received this email then please notify the member of staff who organises your volunteer programme.

Please note that the Designated Child Protection leads are as follows:

  • Kara Lebihan (Head of Primary)
  • Assistant: Ian Rinaldi (Deputy Head – Primary)
  • John Smith (Head of Secondary)
  • Assistant: Heather Rinaldi (Deputy Head – Secondary)
