On Friday 2nd November, during STEAM week's maths, 5AM were lucky enough to have a parent visit them in class.

Mr. Van Oortmerssen came in to show the children two pieces of wearable technology that he wears when he is training for triathlons. The children were able to have a close look at the devices, as well as looking at the data that he had collected from them in an excel spreadsheet. They then studied this data further, as well as looking at online maps and charts collated by the devices, using it to compare average heart rates, pace and distance travelled during a run. The children really enjoyed Mr. Van Oortmerssen’s visit and were very grateful that he was able to give up some of his time to visit them.
