The children prepared a simple investigation and made predictions about the effects of exercise on the body based on their knowledge of pulse rate; blood flow; oxygen and the respiratory system; and the heart.
Taking the investigation one step further, the students collaboratively designed a health survey and questioned various teachers and students around the school in their own time. They gathered the data in a table and worked together to analyse and present the results in the form of a bar graph. The students have demonstrated that they are able to test ideas using evidence from observation and measurement, and link this evidence to broader scientific understanding. We are all very proud of the hard work everyone put into this lengthy process and the children loved taking their parents through a Learning Walk of our science projects during the Learning Showcase morning.
