The students become more reflective about their learning which empowers them to make thoughtful choices about their work in this stage. The students' development of these skills was evident during today's International Primary Curriculum (IPC) exit point exhibition. The unit, 'Footprints from the Past' explored the dinosaur era. For the project, students were asked to synthesise their understanding about the Mesozoic era and palaeontology to 'discover' a new dinosaur.
Their dinosaurs had to belong to one of three main eras, be named appropriately and have its diet connect realistically with the chosen period. Students then went through the design process to construct their dinosaur from recycled materials. A parade of dinosaurs took over the corridors which was followed by an exhibition where students presented their find to parents and other children. A wonderful experience showcasing both learning and effort.
