Head students 2020/21

New Head Students Begin their Leadership at BSKL

Following a rigorous selection process, four Year 13 students begin new leadership roles this term as head students and deputy head students.

Tricia and Olivia were selected to serve as head students for the 2020-21 school year, while Roshen and Nikita will serve as the deputy head students.

These leaders will help shape life for all secondary students while developing important skills that will help them at university and beyond.

Each of these students bring something unique to the school community and all have been involved with BSKL athletics and other co-curricular activities.

Besides their experience, these students also bring a level of enthusiasm and excitement to serving their fellow students.

"I'm looking forward to being able to encourage students to be ambitious and helping them to put their plans in motion," Tricia said.

"I'm excited to herald positive changes in student life at BSKL, and to serve as a representative and voice for the student body," Olivia said. "I'm also looking forward to opening up more co-curriculars and leadership positions for others to offer more students opportunities for self-development," she added.

All four recognise the importance of their role in helping other BSKL students get the most out of their school experience.

Roshen elaborated on this part of the role when asked what he was looking forward to about being a student leader.

"Being someone students can come to with concerns and being able to encourage students and open them up to new leadership roles so that they can be part of the student leadership team," Roshen said.

Nikita offered a similar sentiment.

"Being an approachable role model to students and to be able to encourage kindness and tolerance within our BSKL community [are important to me]," Nikita said.

The school looks forward to working with these student leaders and supporting their agenda throughout the school year.
