What regal Coronation Day celebrations by the British School of Guangzhou!

The British School of Guangzhou students won the KS3 regional Poetry Slam

Last Saturday, Four Seasons was transformed into a magical place as 100 senior students of the British School of Guangzhou gathered for their prom. The theme for the evening was Old Hollywood, and the organizers did an excellent job of creating a vintage set up that transported everyone back in time.

Nick Mahmat, Salla Saarikangas-Kramer, and Ashley Renee Watkins from the Juilliard School in New York, a world leader in performing arts education, travelled to BSG to share their expertise with students and parents alike.

 This week as we have started our new topic of dinosaurs!

A highlight has been introducing our new core text “Oh no, George!”.

Early Years and Year 1 presented their very first Spring Production- Croak! and it was an absolute delight.

The victory sealed the Rhinos cup double, following their heroics in last weeks’ divisional final, capping a memorable first season together as a team.

“Little Learners” playgroup class will start at the South Lake Early Years campus, on April 14th 2023, from 8:45-10:15 am.

Registration opens Monday 27th March and closes on Friday 7th May.

As part of this being our focus for English and supporting the children to work on skills related to communication and language, we started off by looking at the cover of the book and had a discussion about the 'moon' and the 'stars'.

BSG held a successful International Day charity event on Saturday, thanks to the hard work and dedication of supporters from across our whole school community. The event featured country stalls from Poland, China, Great Britain, Korea, China Taiwan, Ukraine, Belgium, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Kuwait, and Malaysia, making it a truly diverse and inclusive affair.

In celebration of St Patrick’s day, 10 members of our Primary Choir were invited to the residence of the British Consul General as part of an event for Chinese - Northern Irish relations.

Year 3 have been investigating and researching magnets and forces!

At our Olympic Park campus, we have a dedicated STEAM room. There is a wide range of resources available for students and they are encouraged to explore the room and choose activities independently during our Active Learning time.

We have been able to donate Hopeful Hearts the sum of 50,000RMB.

On Thursday BSG hosted the Guangzhou International Schools Elementary Sports U11 football tournament.

On Tuesday, we celebrated international Pi day, March 14th or 3.14. Students have been engaged with Pi and Mathematics related activities all week. Monday saw a ferocious competition between houses answering increasingly difficult maths questions.

On Tuesday our U14s Volleyball teams played their final game of the season in the GISSA Championship at UISG.
