IGCSE "Mocks”

Simon Sherratt
Simon Sherratt (5 posts) Head of Secondary View Profile

With a much more detailed and robust curriculum within Key Stage 4, the IGCSE programme of study spans over a two year period. The Year 10 mock exams will be the first time the students will experience the challenge of a set of formal examinations, completed within a short space of time.

To help prepare the students for this, Mr Gipson (Head of Secondary Pastoral and KS3/KS4 Transition) has spent time preparing the students for the road ahead with an emphasis on positive mindset, being ambitious and embracing challenges.

Last 17th September 2018, Year 10 participated in our schools first ever ‘Be Ambitious Day’ during which the students were introduced to mindfulness practice, healthy lifestyles and the benefits of pushing oneself, of being ambitious.

This day has been followed up on with a consistent emphasis on personal reflection and mindfulness practice with the aim of finding the right headspace to be successful.

Being in the right mindset helps us focus on being aware of what we have to do to achieve our goals. Casey Chatrath, Year 10 Student
