Why do we use the Progress Test series?
GL Education is the leading provider of benchmarking, formative and diagnostic assessments for UK schools and has an established presence in British, bilingual and international schools in over 100 countries worldwide.
It’s statistically robust and independently produced & assessed, our teachers do not see the test beforehand or have any input into marking it for their children. The progress test (PT) Series is standardised against a UK sample of over 100,000 students, with benchmarks verified every year based on analysis of half a million students.
What does the Progress Test Series do?
Measures our students’ knowledge, understanding and application of the core subjects:
- English: focuses on grammar, punctuation and spelling, and on reading comprehension, using age-appropriate fiction and information texts.
- Maths: assesses key aspects of maths appropriate to the age of the student including mental maths.
What does the Progress Test Series tell us?
The PT Series is used twice a year at NAIS MANILA to gain a baseline ‘snapshot’, support individual interventions, curriculum planning and to measure individual academic progress.
It also supports school improvement initiatives by showing the relative performance of our students compared to UK national benchmarks. Testing year-on-year enables us to track and accelerate individual and group progress.
What do the results tell us?
The following results produced have been broken down to give an overview per curriculum area, for each of the core subjects.
As you will see from our fantastic results below (with NAIS MANILA results on the right in purple) Primary students in KS1 & KS2 are consistently exceeding UK averages (on the left in blue) for their age.
