Andrew Fitzmaurice is the Chief Executive Officer of Nord Anglia Education.

Following Andrew’s appointment as CEO in 2003, Nord Anglia has established itself as the world’s leading premium schools organisation.

Under Andrew’s leadership, Nord Anglia provides personalised learning to thousands of students aged 2–18 years old in premium international day and boarding schools. Nord Anglia’s global family of schools are located in 29 countries across Asia, the Americas, the Middle East and Europe. Andrew graduated from the University of Wales Cardiff, Magna Cum Laude, with a degree in Economics. He also holds an Executive MA in International Education from King’s College London, one of the world’s leading universities. Earlier in his career, Andrew held a number of senior leadership positions including Chief Executive Officer of easyCar.com, an international online automobile rental company. He also spent 13 years at TNT Express UK as a member of its senior leadership team.

Ton van Vilsteren is the Chief Financial Officer of Nord Anglia Education.
Ton van Vilsteren

He has more than two decades of experience in the hospitality sector, including senior finance leadership roles across Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and Latin America. Ton previously led the financial direction of hotels, commercial real estate, retail operations and education at the Jumeirah Group based in Dubai. Prior to that, he was based in Singapore as Head of Finance for Asia Pacific at Hilton Worldwide, where he was accountable for the region’s financial delivery across more than 20 countries. Ton’s career history includes a number of international postings within the Hilton group.

Ton holds an Executive MBA from the International Institute for Management Development in Switzerland and a bachelor’s degree in Finance from “Hotelschool The Hague” in the Netherlands. He also studied at the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in London.

George Ghantous is the Chief Operating Officer of Nord Anglia Education.
George Ghantous
He started his working career in 1993 as an engineer in the oil and gas industry, followed by a successful career in the construction industry. In 2006, George moved to a career in investment banking/Private Equity across the Middle East and Southeast Asia markets. In October 2013, George joined Nord Anglia Education as Regional Managing Director for the Middle East & Southeast Asia followed by a brief stint as Regional Managing Director for North America. George is also a member of Nord Anglia’s Executive Committee and has been since 2013. He holds an Executive MA in International Education from King’s College London. Outside of work, George has a keen interest in coaching and was a Board Member of Dubai Little League, a non-profit organisation teaching kids the game of baseball.

Elise Ecoff is the Group Education Director of Nord Anglia Education.
Elise Ecoff

Prior to taking up this role in 2020, Elise was Principal at North Broward Preparatory School from 2012 where she had served since 2004 as a division leader, curriculum specialist, and assistant head of school. She also spent fifteen years working in Broward County Public Schools in Florida.

Elise holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Lynn University, a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, with a minor in Special Education and certification in ESOL, from Florida International University.

Elise is a consummate leader who serves as an outstanding advocate for students, faculty and parents. As a strong believer in the power of “the network”, Elise chaired several collaborative groups for the Meritas Family of Schools, including the Education Technology Committee and Academic Council and spent four years as a member of the board of directors of the Florida Council of Independent Schools.

She is married and has two children, both proud Nord Anglia Education alum.

Philippe Lagger is the Chief Corporate Development Officer of Nord Anglia Education.
Philippe Lagger
Philippe joined Nord Anglia Education in September 2009, initially as Managing Director of Collège Champittet in Switzerland. Since January 2010, Philippe has led the global Corporate Development function. In his role, he is responsible for growing the family of premium schools, which is done by partnering or acquiring existing schools as well as constructing new campuses.

Philippe was formerly Investment Director with private equity firm Lydian Capital, where he generated and led initiatives in the education, food and leisure sectors. He started his career in Ciba Specialty Chemicals in Switzerland and India and then became a member of the Tetra Laval Group Mergers and Acquisitions team.

Philippe earned an MSc from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology and an MBA from the International Institute for Management Development in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Richard MG Davies is the Chief Technology Officer of Nord Anglia Education.
Richard MG Davies

Richard has over 25 years of experience, across a wide range of sectors, helping organisations transform and evolve by using technology.

Richard joined from International SOS, the world’s leading medical and security risk management organisation, where he was the Group CIO. Prior to that he led technology transformation programmes in the banking and logistics sectors. At DeutschePost-DHL he performed Business Unit, Regional & Global CIO roles, working in the UK, Singapore and Germany. He qualified in Electronic Engineering from the City University, London and then started his career as a software engineer for the UK Ministry of Defence before moving into consulting with the Big Four firms.

Richard is a recognised authority and frequent speaker on how to blend traditional and emerging technologies to achieve significant outcomes. His remit includes the technology that runs the organisation as well as the Education Technology in the classrooms.

Stacy Wallace
Stacy joined Nord Anglia Education from GlaxoSmithKline with an impressive 20 year career in a variety of senior leadership roles focused on front-line operations in North America, Asia and Europe.

As a mother of two and having experienced expatriate life for a number of years in several countries, Stacy is very connected to what parents want in an international education.

She identifies strongly with Nord Anglia Education's Be Ambitious philosophy and is passionate about the value of education. Her extensive experience in engaging with people and understanding their needs helps to serve Nord Anglia Education's students and families by developing a world-class education.

Jian Tang

The founding member of the British International School Shanghai (BISS), Jian has commissioned, opened and provided strong operational management for each school opened in the region.

Previously, Jian has worked as an independent business consultant and as China Desk Manager for Industrial Development Board for Northern Ireland. Jian has a BA in management studies and an MA in industrial economics.

Dr Terry Creissen OBE
He has more than 25 years of experience as an Executive Principal, 13 years of which were spent in the UK where he was a respected educational leader and, alongside his school role, he ran specialist leadership and teacher training programmes.

Dr Creissen has mentored many new Principals joining Nord Anglia Education and supported the development of the organisation’s schools in the Middle East and China Bilingual regions.

As Managing Director for India, Dr Creissen welcomed Oakridge International Schools and their 7,000 plus students into the Nord Anglia family in February 2019.

In August of 2020, Dr Creissen was appointed as Regional Managing Director, China International Schools and as a member of Nord Anglia Education’s Executive Committee.

Shaun Williams
Regional Managing Director, Southeast Asia and Middle East
Shaun Williams is Regional Managing Director, Southeast Asia and the Middle East for Nord Anglia Education.
 
Shaun Williams
He then subsequently became the CEO of the BIS Group of School in Vietnam leading the project teams that opened three new schools between 2011 and 2013. He is now the Regional Managing Director, Southeast Asia and Middle East.

Shaun has worked in a variety of British curriculum schools during his long teaching career stretching back to 1982. This has included many years of senior management experience both in England and in international schools overseas. Between 2002 and 2005 he was Principal of Jumeirah College in Dubai and from 2005 to 2007 he held the post of CEO of Emirates Educational Holdings also in Dubai.

Shaun holds an honours degree in Biochemistry, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education and the National Professional Qualification for Headship from the UK. He is also a recent past-chairman of FOBISIA (Federation of British International Schools in Asia).

Kathryn Pritchard is Regional Managing Director, The Americas for Nord Anglia Education.
 
Kathryn Pritchard

Kathryn Pritchard began her role as Regional Managing Director of The Americas from 1st September 2021, and she is based at our regional head office in Miami. Prior to that, she was Chief Human Resources Officer from July 2019. She started her career as a teacher in the UK’s state sector and has always been passionate about the transformative power of education. 

With more than 20 years of experience in organisational operations and strategic leadership, Kathryn has a passion for creating cultures that make high performance a certainty. With her experience in both private and public sectors, the UK and globally, she is passionate about ensuring our working lives are enriching and fulfilling.
 
Kathryn holds a Master’s degree in Professional Leadership Coaching from Middlesex University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from The Open University. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education.

Kevin Foyle is Regional Managing Director, Europe at Nord Anglia Education.

Kevin has more than twenty years of experience in school leadership after earning a BA degree in History, Physical Education and Sports Science at Loughborough University. After briefly earning a living as a professional cricketer with MCC Young Professionals, Leicestershire and Derbyshire, he began a teaching career at Winchester College, one of the UK’s leading independent schools, where he taught history and politics. He was appointed as Headmaster of Norman Court Preparatory School in 1995.

The draw of a new challenge in international education resulted in his appointment as the founding Principal of the British International School Shanghai, Nanxiang. Inspired by the wonderful fusion of eastern and western approaches to learning found in Shanghai, he moved to take up the position of Principal at the British International School Shanghai in Puxi at the beginning of 2009. In 2016, following nine very successful years in China, he moved to College Alpin Beau Soleil, one of the world’s premier boarding schools. In August of 2019 he assumed the role of Regional Managing Director for Nord Anglia’s Europe region.

Kevin is married to Gill and has four grown up children. His main interests are sports, reading, exploring the mountains and discovering the surrounding cultural and historic places of interest.

Brian Cooklin is Managing Director, India at Nord Anglia Education.
Brian Cooklin
Previously the Founding Principal of the Nord Anglia International School in Hong Kong, Brian has also been the Principal of a British International school in Mexico City and of a school in his home country of Scotland.

Brian graduated from Glasgow University with a Master’s degree in History and English and obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Education, as well as various other diplomas and certificates.

In a teaching career of over 40 years, 25 of those spent as Principal, he was also elected as President of the Headteachers’ Association of Scotland, School Leaders Scotland and served on the UCAS Advisory Board. Brian was also a member of various educational working parties for the UK and Scottish governments. In addition, Brian has led various EU education projects and was a Council member of the International Confederation of Principals.

Brian is a popular conference speaker and workshop trainer as well as the author of many articles for Education journals and publications. A keen public speaker and debater, his other claim to fame was appearing as a contestant on BBC’s Mastermind quiz programme.

Jérôme de Meyer is Chairman, Switzerland for Nord Anglia Education.
Jérôme de Meyer
After completing a Master’s Degree in Business and Economics at the University of St Gall in Switzerland and becoming an officer in the Swiss Army, Jérôme started his career with Swissair as a Marketing Director.

In 1991, he succeeded his father and became the third generation of the family to own and run the Collège Beau Soleil, in Villars sur Ollon - Switzerland. In 1995 Jérôme started the foundation “le Solstice” which helps close to 1,200 children all around the world to have access to free education.

Lord David Puttnam is the Chair of Atticus Education, an online education company founded in 2012 that delivers audio-visual seminars to students all over the world.

In addition to this, he is a member of the House of Lords where he pursues an active role in a variety of areas, from educational and environmental issues to digital skills.

He spent thirty years as an independent producer of award-winning films including The Mission, The Killing Fields, Chariots of Fire, Midnight Express, Bugsy Malone and Local Hero. Together these films have won ten Oscars, ten golden globes, twenty-five Baftas and the Palme D'Or at Cannes.

President Emeritus Dr. Joseph W. Polisi led The Juilliard School for 34 years, from 1984 to 2018. Upon stepping down, he was appointed Chief China Officer and supervised the development of The Tianjin Juilliard School in Tianjin, China. Prior to Juilliard, he was Dean of the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, Dean of faculty at the Manhattan School of Music, and Executive Officer of the Yale University School of Music.

Joseph holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Yale, a degree in international relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University, and a degree in political science from the University of Connecticut.

Dr. Jane Gaskell
Dr. Jane Gaskell is a professor and Dean Emerita at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto. She has researched, written and taught on a wide variety of educational issues, including exemplary secondary education and the relationship between education and the workplace.

Prior to the University of Toronto, Jane taught at the University of British Columbia and Queens University in Kingston, Ontario. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Swarthmore college and has a doctorate from Harvard University.

Jim Knight works in education, digital technology and as a legislator. He is the Chief Education Adviser at Tes Global Ltd, advising on key strategic partnerships. He founded Tes Institute in 2014, which is now the fifth largest qualifier of teachers in England; he has also managed Tes Resources, a global teacher community of 13.5 million users. Jim is a founder of XRapid, using artificial intelligence to power the diagnosis of malaria and asbestos fibres using iPads and microscopy.

As a UK government minister his portfolios included rural affairs, schools, digital and employment. He was a member of Gordon Brown’s Cabinet 2009-2010, before joining the Lords after the 2010 General Election. He is also Honorary President of COBIS, on the Global Advisory Council for BETT, Chair of Whole Education, advises the London School of Commerce and is working with the social impact agency Purpose on teaching climate change.

Dr. Steve Munby CBE
Professor Steve Munby is a consultant and speaker on leadership and system reform in education. He began his life-long career in education as a secondary school teacher in Birmingham, UK.

Between 2005 and 2012, Steve was Chief Executive of the National College for School Leadership in England. From 2012 to 2017, he was Chief Executive of the Education Development Trust, an international education charity working in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Europe. 

Steven is Visiting Professor at the Institute for Education at University College London and is Chair of the Teaching Awards Trust in the UK. He was awarded the title of Commander of the British Empire (CBE) in 2010 for contributions to leadership in schools and children’s services.

Inderjit Dehal
Inderjit's rich career has encompassed senior roles in local and central government, the third sector and the UK’s Academies programme. Inderjit spent 12 years at the Department for Education, the majority as a Senior Civil Servant, where he occupied a number of high profiles roles. These included leading the London Challenge, which has been widely regarded as one of the most effective Education Development programmes delivered in the UK. He led the expansion of the London Challenge, through the City Challenge, to over one third of English schools with a similar positive impact.

He also led the development and delivery of the first national strategy to target the raising of attainment of Black and minority ethnic students in English state schools.

Mark joined Nord Anglia Education in 2011 from the UK Qualifications and Curriculum Development Agency where he was Senior National Policy Adviser, playing a leading role in developments in the English National Curriculum. He was responsible for the primary and early years curriculum introduced into England, and worked with a thousand co-development schools for the implementation. 

Mark has extensive international experience at both policy and school levels. He has worked on curriculum in countries as diverse as China, the Maldives and in the European Union and he was also the Vice Principal of a school in Cameroon. A science teacher by background, Mark has also led as Head of Science in London schools, teaching A-level Physics and science more generally.

Graham joined Nord Anglia in September 2018 bringing his wealth of experience within the international sector and educational and leisure industries. As a Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner, with a track record of over 25 years of delivering value-added risk management to prominent organisations, he is passionate about building a best in class service for all our schools. 

Following his undergraduate science degree and early career in construction, Graham realised his true vocation.  After returning to university to attain his Postgraduate Diploma in Health and Safety, he was appointed Her Majesty’s Inspector of Health & Safety in the UK, where he was responsible for workplaces in the education, leisure and healthcare sectors. Moving to the private sector, he combined a successful role as a Director in a specialist agency advising the film and television industries, whilst lecturing on a university Masters Safety degree and managing safety for a complex multi-site NHS healthcare trust.

Graham’s international career took off at the British Council where he led on safety and security across an estate spanning 110 countries.  Following this, Graham took up the challenge of extending his skills within the emergency services, as Head of Health & Safety and Internal Assurance.

Jenny joined Nord Anglia Education in July 2015 with over a decade of experience in education and is currently the Assistant Director, Professional Development. She has previously managed Nord Anglia's Global Campus along with our collaborations with The Juilliard School and UNICEF.

Her career has included senior roles leading local, regional and national school improvement programmes in the UK. Before joining Nord Anglia Education as Assistant Director of Student Services, Jenny led school improvement in Academy Trusts, where she was responsible for developing and delivering strategies to turn around historically underperforming schools. Prior to these roles, Jenny spent nine years working in the Department for Education leading key initiatives. Jenny was the Head of the Greater Manchester Challenge, which helped to significantly increase the number of outstanding schools in the region, and led key elements of the London Challenge. Jenny played a key role in expanding the London Challenge to the Three City Challenges, and the National Challenge.

Barry Armstrong brings with him over 30 years of experience in education with particular expertise in child safeguarding. Before joining Nord Anglia Education in 2016 as Head of Safeguarding, Barry worked for the Oxfordshire County Council ensuring the safety of children in an education setting. While working in leadership positions in the public sector, Barry worked with local authorities and a range of private services and schools to identify areas of weakness and target areas for improvement in safeguarding. Barry has extensive experience working with governing bodies and staff groups and has a methodical and clinical approach to ensuring that Nord Anglia Education schools uphold the highest standards in child safety.

David Wall
David joined Nord Anglia Education in 2014 as Head of Expeditions. His main focus is the development of outdoor education heading the programmes for our Global Campus Worldwide Expedition Programme. Through David’s leadership, NAE has expanded its Global Campus Worldwide with the Citizenship Expedition in Tanzania, the creation of the Personal Challenge Expedition in the Swiss Alps and other regional expeditions for all 42 Nord Anglia Education schools.

With over 14 years of experience in outdoor education for international schools, David is masterful in guiding cross-cultural exchanges. He has led over 100 expeditions with thousands of students from grades 4-12. As an experienced traveller who has explored continents such as Asia, Europe, Africa, Australia and North America, David believes in fostering a holistic education through worldwide experiences and service learning.

Joanna Lay

Joanna Lay is Assistant Director, Nord Anglia University and Online Learning.
Joanna Lay
Joanna joined Nord Anglia in 2014 with a range of experience in education, online technologies and online learning platforms.  She currently manages a team that creates and facilitates online learning for NAE across our Global Campus and Nord Anglia University platforms.  She also manages our Nord Anglia University and its professional development programmes via our online platform, creating high quality learning opportunities for our staff.

Joanna has previously worked in the Educational Publishing industry managing online learning platforms for use in both the UK and the International schools markets.  Prior to this she had responsibility for commissioning and creating online content used by teachers and students within VLEs. 

Joanna started her career in the education field working in UK Secondary schools as a classroom History teacher and later a Head of Department and Director of the Humanities Faculty.  She has also been involved in a range of projects training other teachers to use online technologies in the classroom effectively.

Kate Erricker
Kate Erricker is the Assistant Director of Nord Anglia University, Asia and was appointed to the role in January 2019. She is a member of the global Education team and works as the Regional Advisor for the China Region. Kate is also part of the Executive Leadership Team at NAIS HK. She is based at the school and leads the local teacher training programme, which the school is required to deliver to local teachers under its license.

Prior to joining Nord Anglia, Kate was a school improvement advisor for Hampshire Local Authority. In this role, she worked closely with teachers and leadership teams to improve outcomes in primary and secondary schools across the county.

Kate originally trained as an English teacher in the U.K. and has 18 years’ experience in education. She recently completed a PhD in teacher professional development.
